My first silver! and a dope slap....

For Christmas my knucklehead sister-in-law, had this hair-brained idea to bury coins in my yard, and to get them I need to MD them if I want them. 4 v-nicks, and 4 barber halves. She took a long knife, pushed all way into ground, then set coins in , yes on edge, and yes I am pissed. I found 3 of each, who knows if I will bother with the others( that's a lie). Anyways to my surprise I popped a 62-D Washington! Thank you for looking, and HH

Nice silver Q! Sounds like my crazy family! Always thrown clad on the ground. One year the other half decided to drill a hole in a piece of fire wood and put a bunch of clad quarters in it, and put it with the rest of the fire wood. Yep and have me find it! He was cheap didn't use silver just clad!
Would they like it if we gave them a set of keys then told them they'd have to find the car!!!!

I finally found the last two coins, pretty much no where near she said she put them. I think there might be some clad, but I am done tearing up my back yard. I still have not dope slapped my sis-in-law....yet.

that's actually pretty cool. I think it's great that family members give a gift that reflects you and your hobby. I've been into detecting for close to 40 years and only once has anyone given me a Christmas gift with that in mind. it sure beats getting candy that you can't stand or a shirt you wouldn't wear in public unless you had a sack over your head.
