SLQ!!! Got out this morning for a quick hunt before the rains came. I knew I only had a few hours so I went to my favorite spot. It's a early 1800s house site that was used as a dump in the late 18 early 19 hundreds. I have found everything from silver buckles and jewelry to old nickels dimes and penny's to civil war relics at this site but I have NEVER in a year and a half of MDing popped a silver quarter out of the ground. I was kind of tired so I stopped for a coffee and the sky's were darkening already. Got to my site and my very first hole only about 3-4 inches down (read a jumpy 80-90s on my at pro) BAM out pops a 1927 standing liberty quarter!!!! I am still so excited but I managed to hunt for another hour and a half and got some awesome conste jewelry that looks Victorian to me. Any way you slice it one of my best hunts ever!

What an excellent 1st silver quarter, congrats man. Now all you need to do is spot the S mintmark on it! 8-)

That spoon bowl also looks to be solid silver. Nice finds!

Thanks! I was so darn excited by The SLQ that i just assumed that the spoon was platted. Now that I look again and run it back under the coil I think your right. That's yet another first for me, a two silver day! Whoot whoot!
