Hit the only spot I have for old coins which is up in MA four hours from home. Last couple of hunts there didn't produce either and 4 hours into my latest hunt on July 4th things looked bad. Then my trusty ace 250 lead to a 4-6 inch hole and a little silver disc. Made a beeline for a break in the woods where the sun peaked through and saw the "one dime" on the back. Flipped that baby and there she was an 1876 cc Seated Liberty Dime ! Boy the adrenaline was flowing. My best find in 48 hunts over the past 2 years. Maybe nothing big for some of you pros, but I would be interested to here from those who are still seeking there first seated coin and what they are doing to track one down. Believe me it was worth all the heat, mosquito's, poison ivy and body aches I have endured - and yes this was site that I researched which was active in the late 1800's.

I have been hunting for 20+ years and yet to have found anything older than a barber... (well one 1868 Shielded nickel) but there are alot of us that have never found one... being out west of the Mississippi its alot harder to find those we see more barbers and newer stuff.... great find enjoy it!

Very nice find - especially with the CC mintmark. I would love to find a CC mint coin, but not many are found in the east. But yours gives me some hope. P.S. try to get a pic of it if possible.

Nice find I bet there is more out there. Keep on hunting.....Matt
