I'm brand new to the gold prospecting world. I took a bucket full of "stuff" out one of my creeks yesterday. My property is full of huge quartz rocks, but that's the only thing I can identify. Does this look like it would be worth panning through? Thanks!

Looks like I would pan through it. What State does it come from?

Thanks for the reply! I'm right on the NC/SC border. Is there a certain type of rock that gold us usually found near? My creeks turn in raging rivers when it rains heavily. They're both fed by natural springs (the springs are not on my property) I do notice black sand accumulates along the creek edges once the water calms after a storm.

as the old saying goes; Gold is where you find it. Quartz and black sand are a good sign.:)

Pan it and let us know what you find. It won't take long to do a few pans.
