Worked a tot lot at the country fair grounds this am and found a kids costume jewelry ring, 15 pennies, 2 dimes, 4 nickles, and 4 quarters......$1.55. The ring came in at VDI-22 whereas pulltabs come in at the same VDI. The nickles were coming in at between 18 and 20. I guess it pays to dig pulltabs in order to get rings. That MXT is just wonderful. All of the finds today were under 4 inches. I forgot to mention 6 pulltabs, 2 bottle tops and a nail...jim

I went out again this pm and changed coils to the 10x6 inch dd eliptical coil. It was very difficult to pinpoint with. I know that you use the heel or toe to pinpoint with but it was still very difficult and I was off more than I was on. It was not as easy pinpointing as it was with the 9.50 coil. I hope that I will get used to it in time.....jim

Your right, pinointing with the 9.5 is easy. The 6X10 takes some getting used to. Tape a coin to a piece of cardboard, put it face down and practice. Stick a small nail through the cardboard where you think the coin is and see how close you are. Soon it will be no problem. I had the same issue when I started using the 6X10.

Good idea! I will do that tomorrow. I want to get used to the 6x10 dd for gold nugget shooting.....

WTG on your ring Jim. The detector is starting to pay off. Get a hang of the 6 X 10 coil so you can pin point your nuggets. Glad to heard that you was finially able to get out....Matt
