Went out this morning and did a short hunt, and found this diamond ring , my eyes almost popped out of my head when I dug it up , took it down to the local jewler and told me it was a cz , even though it wasn't real I couldn't be happier with this find!

Is it real gold, though? Either way, congrats

Count yourself lucky...I recently picked up this hobby and I find the rings off broken pull tabs...only "jewelry" thus far for me. But good for you! That's a good find!

Congratulations on your first - and many more! :occasion14:

Congratulations:hello2: Good Start:thumbsup:

With the price of gold today, MANY less reputable jewelers will LIE to you about gold content/type, and if a stone is real or not. NEVER ask if the item is gold or if a stone is real...let THEM tell you, then get a second and third opinion.

HH,

All rings count...and for having been in the ground 40-50 years, the plating is in top notch shape. For costume this probably wasn't cheap.

If you want gold...you have to dig those pull tabs and foil.
