I dug my first plate today!!! A once in a lifetime permission in Loudoun County Virginia, and I got the rest of the afternoon and two more days to go! I’ll post a cleaned picture later.

That's a great piece. There's another, smaller piece that mates to the right side (as you're looking at it). Check around where you found it to see if you get it. I found a buckle like that, but never found the smaller piece.

My dad found two of those pieces here in the 90s, so there could be another plate out here!
 

Sleep is overrated, hit that as long as possible. Great find!

I found a similar plate a few years back. It has a number on the back corner that corresponds to the number on the receiver piece. (Mine is a 504 see picture below) One of the ones your father found may be the match for your plate. It’s worth a look. Congratulations on a great find. Stay safe, good luck and keep swingin.
