Me and my bud were out MD'ng in a Chicago forest preserve when I found this. Any info on the bottle would be great like a time period or anything approximate age. Could it be from the 20's or 30's or a little bit older? It does have a seam that ends just below the lip of the bottle. Is it a water or soda bottle? This is my 2nd embossed bottle that I found. It also has a lot of air bubbles in it and it has some chips but I am super happy that I saw it and that it was in-tacked when I pulled it out.

I did try to google and yahoo "Lincoln Bottling Co.", but I get nothing.

Nice job on the bottle find! Yup bottle hunting is my third obsession besides Metal detecting, and collecting coins! :) That is an awesome bottle! :) Love the Color! :)

I believe the first mass producing modern bottle making machines were in use around 1900. 1860 or before, the seam (if any) goes from the bottom to the shoulder of the bottle. 1860 to 1900 the seam goes up to the neck. 1900 and after, the seam will go over the top. Nice find!

ok, along the outside bottom rim you *might* find 2 numbers and if you do, that's the bottling date:)

I discovered this when I chatted w/ a person at my local coca-cola bottling company...it was a flavored soda...so you might find words on the bottom/outside rim as well.

Mine said "root" and 10 (1910)
