Good job if there is a spoon there will be more treasures !! Good luck !

Congrats on your first old spoon. Give it a little wipe with some olive oil, then wipe it dry and watch the design come out. It just gives it a nice look. I do that with all of my old table ware finds.

Congratualtions on the relic, bet it will clean up nicely!

Nice find!..should clean up nicely, so please post some "after" pics! Makes me wonder...just why 9 out of 10 of my silverware finds are spoons...but looking back, I can remember dragging a spoon out into the yard to dig for "buried treasure"...too many pirate movies I guess..lol..thx for sharing, looking forward to the cleaned up version...ddf

Nice spoon, I bet there's more where that came from, too.

The reason I especially love finding spoons is that I remember how as a young mother, I often handed my toddler son a spoon from the utensil drawer and pointed him towards a patch of dirt to play.

Although most made it back into the kitchen, I guarantee some are still lurking in the dirt behind the house to be found by some future detectorist.

So whenever I pull a spoon out while detecting, I imagine it in the busy hands of some beautiful toddler 100 years ago...

Congrats! I have about 5-6 old spoons and knives from the same era! Always fun to imagine what that spoon has seen.

My oldest spoon was like.. 1911? it took me days but i tracked down the exact design on a website.

Dose anybody know how old is a nickle silver spoon ? That's what kind of spoon I found

It says nickle silver on the back
