I think I finally may be on a roll. I have found tons of clad this year, but not one silver coin. For that matter, I've yet to find a wheatie, buffalo, 1/2 dollar, dollar, etc.

I decided not to go up to my new spot today. It's really hot and humid. So I went out into the yard instead, which I've done may times before. Well, the first signal yielded a 1985 nickel. And then the second signal rang out. I dug a plug and there she was. A 1929 Mercury dime!! (I swear I've checked that part of the yard numerous times). I was ecstatic!! Last Friday I found my first silver (1941 quarter), and now this today. Woohoo!!

TGIF!!

I hear what your saying. I've slowed way down recently. And boy has it made a difference!

That's one of the things that makes this hobby great, you just never know what's really making that sound, and no detector is fool proof. Congrats on the two silvers!

Congratulations on your merc. They sure are beautiful. I pick mine up occasionally just to look at it.

Congrats sir.

Hopefully many more will finds their way under your coil.

Congratualtions on your first Mercury Dime! :occasion14:

Congrats on your first merchandise. She is a beauty. Keep your coil flat and swing slow. You will have many more in your future.

My best lesson of the year has been exactly that. Low and slow has proven to be a game changer for me. If I had video from when I started detecting in March, you'd think I was trying to fly! Thanks!

Congrats! Remember...every swing could be your next big find. Keep it up!:occasion14:

Grats. It's a great feeling. When I dug my first merc I was bouncing around the room.

In my case, it was around my own yard!! Epic and odd! But ultimately glorious!

congrats, you got a roll started, the ice has been broken on the silver:icon_thumleft:

Seriously, I credit this uptick in my success to the multitude of great people, and their advice and experience, on TNet. I really feel like part of a dedicated team of people that really loves detecting. Happy Hunting! I'm having a blast!
