I found this marble metal detecting an old park on the south side of chicago, illinois on saturday. This was the only thing that came out of the hole so it was a good dig!

Any info would be appreciated... I'm a total noob when it comes to marbles. I'd like to bag and tag it with a little more info than "first marble found" lol...

Thanks in advance!

Great find bud, but I have no idea on the age or type.

im gettin a vitro vibe from that one...looks like a tiger eye made at the vienna wv. plant in the 40s..... when they moved to the parkersburgh location they made vaneer type marbles on white based marbles.....not a marble king all their marbles were the vaneer type...

Thanks Duffy... I'm a bit out of my element here so that really helps. I'll start to do some digging now with that info.

Thanks TreasureFiend! I was pretty jealous last weekend when you found that green one. Now I finally got one! I bet if we just started digging random holes out there and brought a large sand type sifter with that we could go marble hunting in the trashy side. The soil is VERY soft from all of the years of leaves falling and composting.
