Got out for some fresh air in my own back yard and found a few goodies. My first Indian Head! A 1901, she is a little rough but I’ll take it, a 57 wheat, a 1920 wheat, a nice buckle, a wheel weight, a button, and 3 clad dimes. Not a bad hunt on my own property that was built 1890. Still have yet to find old silver except for one 64 Rosie. Any thoughts on age of the buckle? It’s very soft.

There ya go. Got my first last season with my Ace 250. Then my 2nd 3rd and 4th a few minutes later lol. No help on the buckle but your on some good land. Keep it up and happy hunting!

I hunter the fire out of this property with my Ace 250 and walked over that Indian a dozen times or more. This past summer I got a Teknetics T2 and it’s been like new hunting grounds!

Way to go! Good on you for knowing what it is lol. My first Indian I gave to my brother just thinking it was a corroded piece of crap zinc. He pointed out that something looked weird about it and boom! 1904 haha.

Congrats! I think finding it in your own yard must make it feel even more special. Hope you find many more.

Nice finds!,, And congrats on your first IHP :icon_thumleft:
Sounds like you're doing well with the T2. Keep at it!

IHP--she was sitting there all those years waiting for you to find her. I also like the silver dime.

Nice going on the Indian and the buckle ! Can't wait to finally anounce my first Indian - thought I was gonna get it last Sept. because I was hunting in the woods in North East Pennsylvania - and pulled a V nickel and a Barber dime - no such luck yet (everybody in NEPA finds Indians !!)

Congrats on your first Indian. You have opened the flood gates now !

I wish that was a silver dime, unfortunately it’s just an aluminum button insert I believe from a 2 piece more modern button

Congrats those are fun to find you'll have a tribe of those in no time. Keep posting them after you find your first they will start pouring in.

I still remember the day I found my first Indian. Congrats on a successful hunt.

Congrats on your first IH cent! :occasion14:
