Detector(s) used
Ctx 3030, Omega 8500, AT Pro, Ace 150, Explorer XS, Explorer SE / Sunray Probe, Bounter Hunter Land Ranger Pro
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Got my detector this past weekend, forgot to buy batteries though :laughing9: ... so rushed over to the store, picked up a pack of 9-volts and read the manual...was ready to hit my backyard up in a matter of minutes. Wasn't expecting too much as my house is from 1948 or something like that. But was still hoping maybe for some silver or something ::) !

Didn't find any silver...but found about a dollar in change, 1 wheatie and some sort of antique car token (which sadly isn't really antique, as my research showed it was from 1969 and not 1921 :tongue3: ) Just wanted to share, even though my finds aren't impressive like the ones I see on here.

anytime you pull coin, it should be considered a success, especially a Wheat back! Keep swinging, with the Wheat hanging around, there is a good chance you passed over some silver.

Good luck and welcome to the site! :icon_thumright:

Welcome to the addiction! Congrats on the finds.

Not bad for your first time out. You isolated and recovered a lot of tagets, so you are learning your new machine quickly. You just need to get yourself on an older piece of property

It took me weeks to recover a wheatie! You are on your way

You did great for the first time out! :icon_pirat:

Nana :)

Thanks all :laughing7:

hey i started out with a bounty hunter and i can tell ya that what i found with that machine paid for a used quattro
one thing that i learned quick was that i missed a lot
i had one small section of park that every time i went back i pulled a few more Wheaties
keep at it you will find silver

I first saw those antique car tokens when Moderator Jeff of Pa posted one. They were promo's from Sonoco gas stations, but were produced by the Franklin(?) mint.

Welcome to Tnet, great start and remember
everyone has to start somewhere!
You will be surprized time aft time if you keep at it,Good luck! :icon_sunny:

Welcome!
Nice assortment of finds ;D
Keep up the good work, beginners luck is no myth in this 'Field' :laughing7:

you did REALLY WELL for your first time out. I'd keep hitting your yard as there probably is silver somewhere.

Welcome! :)
I'm also new to this whole "detecting business" and I have also yet to find my first really cool find! That being said, you've managed to find much more interesting stuff around your 1948-house than I've managed to find around my 1912-house! :D

Edit; We're even the same age! ;)

I can tell you over the years that the adage "where's there's wheat there is silver" has proven to be true almost all the time for me when detecting. Keep at it.
