At least I think it's gold!

Detected at a local park yesterday and found a rectangular, slightly curved thing that says "14K" on one end. It doesn't look much like gold except a couple little areas. But near it I found a chain that has a similar glittery gold surface but much less weathered or something. Maybe they were from the same thing! Woohoo!

Also found a cool rhinocerous pendant, '77 dime with FDR's face surface eroded and pink, my oldest nickel yet a 1947-S and cool brass or something button. Here's a picture:

No, it can still be gold, depending on the soil conditions. If the soil is acidic enough, it can effect the base metal they paired up with the gold. Take it to a jeweler and get it tested is my suggested

I'd presume its not real gold until you get it acid tested.... :icon_thumleft:

Keep @ it and HH !! :D ;D

Thanks for the info about the gold and soil conditions. Anyone know how much an acid test costs? I hope it's real!

Looks like you found half of a gold bracelet, lawn mower got the other half.

Ah! Thanks, I can picture it now. Had no idea what it was!

If a lawnmower whacked it maybe the rest went several feet from where I found it. I'll have to go back and recheck every single signal at best sensitivity in a bigger radius.

Hello, :hello:

You can go to a Jeweler/coin store or Pawn shop and they will Acid test it for you for free. :icon_thumleft: You can also find them online for around $15.00 (USD) :headbang: Make sure you don't buy an expired kit from some Auction site. Use the auction site to find out the manufacture and get it direct. :hello2:

Keep @ it and HH !! ;D :D

Nice find Gold is Gold :icon_thumright:
