Having never found one I had a tough time ID'ing her in the field. I put it in my finds box thinking I had a worn out wheatie or something. What a surprise when I cleaned her up at home. I was able to get a date - 1857 :occasion14:

HH everyone!!

Congratulations on your first one!

Nice, tough to find only made a few years

Congratulations. I've never had the pleasure of digging one. Just for my notes and I know the ground makes a slight difference. What did it ring up if you can remember? 70's?

Very hard to find one, now-a-days...!
Good Find :icon_thumright:

That is a nice coin to recover. I still haven't found one after 40 plus years but maybe in the future.

Excellent find! Effectively, this coin was only minted 2 years! They are tiny! Extremely hard to get over one. Yet....its one of my strangest coins! Because I have found about SIX of these things over my long "career"! Fascinates me every single time one shows up!

Congrats on a bucket lister!

I was super excited when I found mine too!

What a great find SD! In my experience FEC don't pop out ofthe ground too often. That's a really nice coin.

Congratulations!
Took me 25 years to find the 58 i found in a farm field. Once i figured out what it was , i literally licked the dirt off to see the date .

Incredible find! It's my #1 and I don't know what I'll do when I find one

awesome coin to find and congrats. I can only hope for such a find like that.

Wow, that is too cool. I love flying eagle cents. Not sure I'll ever find one but this is a wild hobby. Congrats!!

Thanks Rook! I can't remember the exact number but I think it rang up like a typical wheatie
