Have enjoyed reading these posts for quite sometime. It's my fix when I can't get out. Have found the usual silver coins, wheats, buffs etc nothing to motivate me to post until this. Just got a new camera so what the heck. A couple weeks ago was out hunting an old boarding house that we've done a few times. Decided to take a walk into the adjoining field off the side yard, my buddy walks right to a 42 Washington and a 45 P war nickle....nothing else. We go back into the main yard and pop out a couple injuns and a few wheats. I decide to hit the adjoining yard one more time, this time closer to the road. All of a sudden wham, a great hit 5 inches down and out pops this!.....
1906-S!

Man, that is a heart stopper.
One is great, but two in the same hole?
Very nice finds and saves!!!!

Thanks guys, haven't had a half in a couple of years, a Barber in over 3. Was quite a surprise. It was so cool to recheck the hole after the first one was out and then hear the detector go off again. Thats 16 Barber halfs in 32 years.... might be a long time before I hit another, glad too that I didn't scratch em', happens alot when there is more than one in a hole.!

Glad you decided to post those finds! 1 Barber half is rare enough, but 2 in the same hole is something special :icon_sunny:
Awesome condition too! :o Nice job on the recovery :icon_thumleft:

The 06-S is my nicest one yet, found a 15-D in Vf years ago but scraped the front and ruined it. Kinda like gettin' the monkey off your back, now I can look at the 06-S and smile :). My friend I hunt with found an XF 45+ 1913 a couple years back and dirt scratched it. Just when you think you'll never find another half it happens. Never knowing what to expect makes this the best hobby!

Sweeeeeeeetnesssss :icon_thumright:

You might be the first person ever to find two barber halves in one hole! :icon_thumleft:

Barber halves are extremely hard to find ( at least here in northern Calif>) So two in one hole is pretty spectacular! Way to go!

If I'm not mistaken, I believe someone found 3 Barbers in a siver spill a couple of weeks ago. 20 some silvers in one hole.

sorry - nothin to do w/ the post, but what made you pick burlives as your avatar? I LOVE Burl Ives. have since I was a kid. use to listen to his music all the time. mom still has his records.
