Went out to see my Aunty, day before yesterday... she lives in an old church that has been done up to be lived in as a rental.
I thought it was around 120 years old , but found a set stone with the engravings that it was built in 1947.
Not letting this get me down , i popped the new batteries into my bounty hunter and started off , as i was in a rush to beat the daylight , i was using tone mode only... hitting a few broken tones i bypassed them and got my first strong signal.. i dug up my first three pence and i was stoked.
Next i headed around the back and hit a nice six pence and another three pence.
I was covering ground pretty fast and wildly , so i would have passed over alot i believe.
My last coin was a 5 cent only a few years old.
The pre decimal coins are all dated in the early 1950's , one looks in almost new condition.
When i get a chance i'll post up a picture , but i will be heading back out there in the next few days and having a good long look around... i'll be hitting the beach this sunday (depending on the weather , BIG seas at the moment)...
All the best good people ,
cheers
AJ
