Congrats on your first button!

20th C blazer button, but as you say, a cool first find...keep at it...

My first find was a Memorial penny and I was tickled to death. Had I found a nice button like that I might have been tempted to have a "Diggers" moment.

A button for a first find is very cool indeed!

Congrats! !! That's a great feeling. I remember my first button.

Good luck, keep at it and I'll look forward to seeing more finds from you.

Congrats on your first button, that is really cool!

I told my sister about my find now her friend invited me over to her house next week to search her yard, her house was built in the 1800s, has an outhouse that fits 3 and also a barn in the back. I will keep everybody updated. I'm so excited.

Any advice on where to look? I was told to check outside on all 4 corners of the house, path to the outhouse, also in the outhouse. Inside/ outside around the barn, back behind the barn (where the garbage was usually buried before sanitation) and by any large trees on property. Also by the stream next to property. Not to mention any open grass. Anything else??

very nice first find. I Love finding buttons. Seems like a more personal touch with the original owner. Coins get passed around alot. Buttons can stay with a person for years....at least till they drop it.

Congrats!

When hunting a home I always try to find where the clothesline was. Things left in wet pockets fall out when dry :) Also along both sides of the front path to the house. Also mail used to be paid for by leaving coins in the mailbox, and the mailbox was always on the opposite side of the street from the house. Good luck and HH!

Great advice from OneWetKnee(love the name by the way) your button is very cool nsm. I found a WWI button last week just a few feet away from a clothesline.

Congrats on your first find and for taking your first hit of metal detecting its addicting aint it

Your button is a Waterbury gold plated blazer button. Yours looks like one I found a few months ago, and it was ID by a member for me.

HH,

Matt
