My First Find.....I'm Hooked!!!!

I purchased a White's Coimaster to try my hand at detecting. I live near the beach, so finding items is quite easy, even without the aid of a MD, but they are usually just trash. So a MD is really needed. I have limited funds and have been dying to get out with a MD.
I went outback today and found this:

MD Finds.jpg

I know it's only a 3oz. fishing weight, but it's my first and I am totally HOOKED!!! I can't wait to hit the beaches now.
I will add. Check out the gnaw marks from a squirrel or mouse. Lead is sweet and attracts them. Unfortunately it probably went off and went mad.

I can't wait to find more. Even this weight makes me excited!!

HaHa! Thanks. I grew up on a farm, house was circa 1720, and I am a die hard history buff, but I just never got around to buying a MD. What was I thinking?!?!?!? I've found some nice things by kicking over the right piece of dirt, but the hidden stuff.......so much better.

Yes, there are several wrecks that still wash items up on shore. The "Faithful Steward" wrecked in 1785 with around 430 barrels of coins. They have found thousands on the shoreline. Plus all the beach goers loosing stuff on their vacations.

I'll love to see your face when you find that first gold jewelry, there is nothing like the feeling you get when all the garbage you dig finally pays off. GL

Re: My First Find.....I'm Hooked!!!!

Welcome and congrats. My Aunt and Uncle live by the beach in Ocean City, MD and I have been wanting to take a trip out there. I remember my first find. I found my dogs lost tag in the back yard and then decided to see what else was there and became hooked.
