Over the weekend I had the pleasure of swinging with a very diverse group of people. The talent ranged from Professional to beginner and everywhere in between.

Considering the age of the site, the finds were all over the board as well. Some of the more notable finds were a Silver colonial ring, a mid to late 1800’s silver courtship broach, a very rare Confederate CW button and a mountain of trash.

Here is my take for the weekend. Note the mountain of trash in the background.

By far my best find of the hunt was this Confederate Sword Hanger.
Funny and not so funny thing is...i found the hanger on Saturday and threw it in my pouch of trash not knowing what it was.
Sunday morning i showed my trash to the group and it was quickly recognized as something other than trash.
a special thank you goes out to Tyler McGhee for pointing it out.

A few of my other finds were pretty interesting as well.
A drilled Lutheran token dated 1917, a couple buckles a flat button marked plated and what looks like stars below it
a couple lead bail seals, a super small pair of binoculars a ring and a giant clock key.

Awesome! Congrats!

Reverse reads: "A firm castle is our God" Interesting find. Congrats on the sword hanger. :icon_thumright:

Nice hunt!!! You dig as much trash as I do!!

Congratulations on the sword hanger and the rest of the wide variety of finds.

If the squared inside of that clock key are not rounded folks pay $5 for a proper size needed one in my area all day long, just saying.

Believe it or not when I first started out detecting mine was also in the trash pile but I didn't have "Tyler McGhee" to save the day :BangHead: Great save!!

That’s awesome find
Congrats

Cool finds and congrats on first Confederate relic! I also love the Martin Luther token. We just celebrated the 500th anniversary of the date Martin Luther posted the 95 theses a couple of years ago... and thats from the 400th... so cool!

Those are some very interesting finds. Congrats!

Great bunch of finds. Congrats.

I would have probably done the same thing with the sword hanger.

Very sweet find.

That hanger is a beauty, as is that token! Be sure to check that pile of junk real carefully!

I looked at that stuff twice and pulled everything I did not recognize.

Great finds! Let that be an important lesson that some trash is actually treasure! That kind of makes it even better that you found it and almost threw it out! If I found that out of context I wouldn't know what it was either!

That's what im talkin about. Great detecting.:icon_thumright:
