I finally discovered my first coin spill this evening. I have hunted and hunted for over 6 days now and finally it happened.....you have all heard the stories and I didn't think it would ever happen to me but.......

Right in my front yard testing my new Garrett Digger and Pro Pointer and I got a strong signal. It seemed that pro pointer was going to vibrate the fillings outta my pointed head...after a couple insertions with the digger and there they were.... I found 2, count them, 2 copper coins....one from the ancient time of 1980 and the other is so crusty I cant read the date but can barely make out what appears to be an ancient etching of the Lincoln Memorial on the back...There also seems to be a profile of a person on the front...maybe Abraham Lincoln but not really sure....Will have to research a bit to make sure......

What a day....I feel great! :headbang:

All kidding aside, it really was fun to get 2 in the same little 3 inch hole...that Pro Pointer just kept going off...I also found an old bottle cap in the same hole with them....

Not really a "spill", more like a dribble. LOL

WTG!

Congratulations! I have a few pennies too .. and lots of old nails! This is certainly an addicting habit. I just found out there was a year round amusement park near where I lived that closed in the late 60's ... my plan .. cover my self with some kind of deet spray and spend the day with my new detector lol

Congrats on your first coin spill! IT'S ALL GOOD! :notworthy: :icon_thumleft:

I've never had a real big coin spill, but a year ago my adult son dug up a humdinger: a coin roll spill! Six intact rolls of quarters spaced fairly close together, with 20 or 30 more individual quarters scattered around nearby. Blew our minds! All those quarters were dated from 1960's through 1980's, & it was fun to theorize why they were ditched there. None of us ever duplicates what others find, which to me is the beauty of this hobby!
HAVE FUN & KEEP US POSTED! Andi
