I have found coins from the time periodes 1733 - 1787 and 18xx as well as 1924-1925 but there is a time gap between the end of 18xx and 1924. I'd say about 25 years which are absolete. Now, I found my first 1921 coin and it is in a decent condition as I found it on a trail which has obviously been used in the past already. The trails do not get fertilized with manure nor do cows urinate there.....means the coins have a better chance to survive.
The ring is somehow "strange" it is a women's sized ring which would fit my pinky and it is all black. I found it in a pasture in between corn fields. It was down maybe 5-8 " so as the pastures do not get ploughed it must have been there for a while to get that deep. The ring is all black and NOT corroded at all. The surface feels a little bit uneven like it was hammered but does not have any stamping or engraving? I have no idea what kind of material this could be?

the ring could be silver , turning black is what silver does ...

The ring could well be silver , could also be brass or bronze , or copper - I've seen all these metals with a black patina ! Could we please see a close up or two of the surface ? as a silversmith - I would be interested to see the texture !

here are some as close as I can go pics....many thanks for your help!!! it weighs 3 grams and reads VDI 13 using Equinox 800 Field 1 setting
