my first class ring and it's old!

I went back to one of my old permissions that I have hunted out, and decided that I would just check the pull tab signals. And what do you know look what came out! I dug about 8 pull tabs out of this yard from the 1860's. Something was telling me that I believe these old yards were going to have gold rings. And I guess my hunch was right. It tested for 14 karat the markings are behind the year and it was about 5 or so inches down. I looked to see if anyone's names or initials were on the inside and I could not find it. The only thing that I have is the year and the initials for PHS in which the P stand for the town's name. I did find this with my Teknetics t2 as I did with my other gold. It weighs 4.6 grams

Beautiful ring!!

That why I did pull tabs never know when it will be a ring

That's one sweet graduation ring....circa 1915 was considered pretty high education graduating from high school in that era and those who could afford a gold ring were probably pretty well off at that time.

Bill

Great ring! I dug a pulltab signal at an 1840s house this summer and it truned out to be a modern diamond engagement ring with 5 oval - 1/3 carat diamonds! Congrats on the fantastic ring!

Guys and gals thanks so much! And Eric in NJ I I remember that post that was awesome. That was a honker of a gold ring from what I remember

Hi my class ring has phs one which stands for paris high school which is located in paris missouri but there were probably a lot of schools with those initials cool ring still yet to find gold here

Gotta dig the pull tabs. That is a great ring, and must have been lost close to 1915, looking at the photos I don't see any wear.

Awesome ring...................HH

BosnMate- you are right, because I can feel the sharp edges around the ring where it hasn't been worn
