Now I'm hooked. Been mostly a coin hunter up to this point, but I found this Sharps .54 caliber dropped bullet 4" beneath a tree root while hunting near the soccer field my daughter was practicing at in April. Doesn't compare to the hoards of stuff most of you have found, but this was entirely by accident. Can't wait to start researching and finding new places to dig for any relics that have been missed. Most of the locals have beaten this area up pretty good from what I hear.

Congrat's CD.....Nice dropped Sharp's :icon_thumright:

Your darn right they have beat it up!

It doesn't mean they miss things.
Seriously, have you watched some guys swing a detector?
Go where the stuff is known to be found and detect super slow...I guarantee you will find something of period. :icon_thumleft:

Oh yes, Go back, Go back, Go back. You may be suprised at what you find!!! Nice Sharps!!

If others have found relics there then there are more to be found. I hunted an area here in Knoxville last year that has been absolutely hunted to death. Two of my buddies found buttons and I found a nice trigger guard. The buttons were found in the briar patches where most people would not hunt. By all means go back and hunt slow and let us know what you find.
