My First Civil War Button and other Whats It's

I went out this weekend to a place that I have hit numerous times and I am always amazed when I pull something new from this specific area. I have went over this area again and again. I love it when you start your day with a good target. My first 3 targets were my best of the day. The first was the civil war general service coat button made by Scovill. Then next to it I found the round smooth button that is missing the back and then I found what I thought was the back but when I got it home and cleaned it up it was a tiny star button in tact.

I'm not sure what this is but it is very precise in its lines in other words very well made. The area I was searching was an old church site from the 1800's.
