My First Bottle

From time to time things like this get washed free of a hillside in my pasture so just for kicks I pulled this one out of the dirt and tried to find some information about it.

After a short search, I was able to track down the maker and the year - Thatcher Manufacturing Company, 1946. It is stamped across the shoulder with "Federal Law Forbids Sale or Re-Use of This Bottle".

What's it worth? About five bucks on a good day. But my first find none the less. :)

Good start to a collection, now go find that hillside bottle dump and show us more! :)
Well done on you're research of your first find.

Screw tops are basically not worth much with a few exceptions, but older internal thread bottles bring a good price sometimes. Good luck with you dump and sometimes the deeper the better.
