Last Friday I got to spend a little time at Jacksonville Beach Florida while I was on my honeymoon and my beautiful wife let me swing my metal detector for a few hours.

This was my first beach hunt ever. Needless to say there was a little bit of a learning curve involved with my Ace 350. I kept striking gold, however it was all gold plated.

I just knew that little rose gold rope ring was going to be real, but nope 18 karat gold plated. Sells for about four dollars on the Internet.

Anyways, I still managed to find the wheat Penny among all that trash plus a good deal of clad in only a few hours of hunting Time. Even found a spill of 67 cents in on hole!

The sand is a lot easier than digging in the hard ground of central North Carolina!

As always, thanks for stopping by and digging my digs :icon_thumright:

Congratz on your first beach hunt! The jewelry may be junk, but I bet each piece made you skip a heartbeat when you found them!

Oh yes. Each piece made me geek out a little. It's always about the search, finding cool stuff is just the icing on the cake

Well done! You got a wheatie, that's better than a stick in the eye!
