Never found a Barber before. Always wanted one. That all changed a few hours ago when this popped out of the ground:

Damn, such an amazing looking coin! Both in design, and in condition. Who here wishes the US still made beautiful coins the way they did 100-200 years ago? Whoever designed the shield penny should be shot.

Also found this buckle at an impressive 12" deep. Anyone know about it? It's very thick, and I thought it interesting because of that thing on the side. Barber dime for scale! :icon_thumright:

I agree that is a beautiful coin and the buckle is nice too. Congrats

That's a nice looking coin, congrats. My first silver was a barber dime, I was certain that I would be finding them regularly...

Turns out that they rarely find my coil.

Good luck sir!

Beautiful coin...….congrats

Awesome, I bet you were grinning ear to ear. Love those Barbers

Congrats on your first Barber. That is a nice looking coin, and yes I agree, the designs of old would be welcomed back any time as far as I'm concerned.

Great looking coin, congratulations! :occasion14:

That is one fine looking Barber. Congrats on finding your first! Hope that there are many more in your near future!!!

Very cool find! I found my first 10 years ago. Was hitting some sidewalk strips and got a Merc/barber Quarter spill. Man was I pumped. Gotta appreciate days like those when things get slow.

That’s a beauty, congrats.

I agree, love the older icon design. Congrats on your first one. I was astounded on first on also. You will be pleased with the first of many others also.

coins were art back in the day and the barber is just one of the proofs of it. congrats

Oh man I love the look of that coin. The condition and toning are awesome! :icon_thumright:

I was just thinking to myself last week that the US Mint should really change the design of the coins we have now. The Washington Quarter has been around for 86 years, the Rosey for 72, nickel for 80, and the Lincoln cent for 109! Time for a change.
