Detector(s) used
Whites M6, Whites Pulse Diver, ETRAC.
Got out with a friend today and found
12 wheats
a 1941 British three pence
silver Quarter and dime
Silver salt shaker top
I believe 14K Gold ring
and 1892s Barber Half.
Does anyone know what grade this half is?
From the red book I believe its in VG shape, which is listed at $325.
First Barber Half I have ever found.
Thanks for looking. :icon_thumleft:

yes if it were my coin I would slab it, here is a good link to grade it. I feel it is borderline Fine

the link says barber quarters, but halves are same design.......

Re: My first Barber Half!

Wow! Great finds all the way! That Barber half is a thing of dreams. Just out of curiosity, is that a "digger bite" on the ring, by the 'F'?

Re: My first Barber Half!

Hey G, nice finds, that etrac IS a silver magnet, looking forward to seeing it at the next meeting. Dean

Re: My first Barber Half!

Great find. One of my first older finds was a barber half.....not a nice date like yours, but it was a barber half.
I would grade it like the other THer did.....a very very close-to fine. Can see all the letters of L-I-B-E-R-T-Y, but not all of
all the letters. Can see all the writing on the back. Rim is complete. Check out the price on the Fine. You have a nice
nice coin. Congrats.

I believe the ring may have gotten hit by a mower. :-\

Thanks for the link Goes4 ever, I am leaning toward Fine after reading the descriptions. The red book suggests its worth $400 dollars in fine condition. :o
Thanks for all the positive comments all.
