My first adventure

Congrats on a very good first trip!

Great first outing! Hope you can see the possibilities - if you process a little more material, your back will "talk" to you louder on the way home and keep you
company.:laughing7:

Congratulations on your first yellow! :occasion14:

Going Again this weekend

Thanks guys for the positive encouragement! :icon_thumleft:

Going back to mineral bar this weekend for sat/sun as long as the weather holds decent. I would like some company if anyone wants to come out for a day.

Anyways, a couple things I learned from my first trip, maybe this can help someone else.....

-DON'T bring too much stuff, I did, and the short hike back uphill when tired sucked!
-Spend an extra 5-10 min setting up sluice, I only ran 6 buckets in 8 hours.
-Talk to everyone you see, I met and chatted with some very nice folks there.

So just a few random thoughts, I am liking this hobby that i can build things to try in the field, Made a Gold Sucker to bring this time.

Again,
Going to mineral bar Sat 10-27 and sun 10-28. Come out and let's find some gold!!

Sweet little video you put together. It's always great to go prospecting and to find some color.

Nicely done!

All the best,

Lanny

Fantastic. Now you're hooked. Eventually you'll want reach bedrock. For that kind'a terrain, i recommend you forget about using a shovel and pick to dig down through that stuff and buy yourself a full size five foot iron "breaker bar". You can pick one up for about $30 bucks. It'll make your digging alot easier. Best piece of equipement i've ever bought. It'll save your back for sure. It's not only great for digging, but makes a helluv'a good lever for moving those big boulders outta the way.
