Went back to the hill for another round (pun intended). Pulled 4 Wheaties, 4 Lincolns, a handful of modern cartridges, and my first .69 caliber. The land owner is now hooked on history and has given me full access. Check out the view from the bottom of the hill.

Love those big .69's. Congrats!
Thanks! Supposedly a few skirmishes over the hill during the war. Hoping to zero in on a location and pull a few more.

Would check that hill doesn't really look natural to me
Its solid rock to the top. My research takes me as far back as 1802. Its a prominent feature of the area and said to be used by native Americans and settlers as a landmark for travel. Likewise as a lookout during the civil war for both sides. I found this toke at the top.

That root slayer is pretty impressive tool, I have the next size down. Congrats on your finds
Thanks! Have you ever sharpened it? I've been digging a lot of rock lately.

Wow! What a place to hunt! You may find some nice targets on that 400 acres! Good luck to you! Looking forward to the next picture!
Thanks. I usually have a metal plan for most of my hunts but I think I'm actually going to have to write this one down. 🤣

Thanks. I just got back into the swing of things this year and feel very fortunate to have come across this permission. My first house was on Gen. Hoods retreat route after the second battle of Franklin. That's where I caught the CW fever.
