Been awhile since I've posted anything but once again my yard has left me speechless. I've come to realize that to find the good stuff I have to go low and slow and dig the iffy signals. So far this spring it's paying off with a toasty indian, an awesome eagle button, and tonight the 2 center. I still have a lot to learn and I find this site invaluable for information so can anyone tell me how rare a find is this 2 cent coin? Thanks.

Great yard finds! That 2 center is the same year as I found. Nice condition. Not super rare but an awesome find with a great design in my opinion. I also think it's just cool to dig a denomination that's not minted any more. If you dig an 1872 or 1873 2 cent you've got something nice and valuable my friend

That is some great stuff there. The 2 cent is my favorite but those are all great finds.

It is all in such great shape! There is some kind of mineral in the soil here that just eats metal up. My wife found a skeleton key tonight while making a new flower bed. She is so excited because she has been wanting to find one, but she would be envious of yours. Its so clean.

cool finds! Grats on the 2 center! (I still love finding old keys and padlocks for some strange reason. I like the key)

Thanks guys. I am amazed at the detail of that coin, most of the stuff I dig here is pretty toasty.
Leco that's actually my 4th skeleton key from the yard. The other 3 seem older than this one they look like they are made of brass.

Congrats on 2 cent piece, and the other finds.thanks for sharing.

I really love the look of that key!

Very nice finds! Two centers aren't very common- the 1864 (19+ million) and 1865 (13.6 million) were the most common- that's usually what you see posted. I've been lucky enough to find 8 of each. Can you tell us what the date is on the Indian (if it has one)?? It looks like the condition a nickel would come out of the ground looking like, so it might be a copper/nickel date (1859 - 1864).

Congrats & continued success to you!

No date on the Indian Jeff, but I can tell you I've dug 3 V nickels that show the same corrosion if that helps.
