Tell Hank I say hello also, it was great to see you again well Lorraine I went to iron beach but the tide was coming in I hit that for a little and bang the ring the first for 2014.......

I was beach hopping today and I happen to see my good friend Lorrain, it was great seeing you today at the beach, well I decided to go to another beach and bang I got my first 14k gold ring for 2014....

First of all congrats, you're starting out with a GREAT detector!
If hunting the beach hunt the shallow water, dry sand towel line area, and the wet sand at low tide starting a couple hours before, during and after.
Look for low spots where the water is closer to the dry sand and by cuts.
Incase you don't know what that is, it looks like a wall of sand.
Swing low, wide, and slow.
