found my first 2 coins in my yard today woohoo im learning my machine better now im still new to all this but its so much fun
and i love it after lunch i will go back out to my yard my house is from 1920's so hopefully more out there then i will head off to the woods in my area a block from me anyone ever find good stuff in the woods

First finds are great----you never now what you might find in the woods--watch for old stone piles or holes that may have been foundations---good luck---

Seen this question many times in various forms. "What settings do you use ?"
General rule of thumb is to use the most sensitivity, and the least amount of discrimination, as you can stand, and the particular site will allow. I go wide open almost all the time, but some users don't like that much "noise" So the settings that person "X" uses at location "Y" is not necessarily what you might like.

It was Robert Heinlein,a Science fiction writer who coined that phrase atomicscott. I haven't read any of his works but I liked the quote too.

Actually, we are both wrong! It was Thomas Jefferson who originally said it. I knew it was someone during the colonial days! It has to do with the 2nd amendment so thats what Jefferson was referring to.
