Some of you may have read my field test of the new F2. In there I said that it classified tabs as coins if they were 2 inches or deeper. Other than that the detector worked great. Well Andy,NM of fisherf75.com contacted me and thought my detector needed an adjustment. He said he talked to Fisher and they said my numbers were out of normal range. He suggested I send it in. So that's what I did. From the time I put it in the mail it only took 6 days to get it back to me. I have to say that the target ID and numbers are spot on! This thing is a real nice detector. With 2 coils and an extra lower shaft for $199.00 it's great! Many thanks to Andy, NM and Fisher!

Many of us really hope Fisher under new ownership makes it. I owned many Fishers in the past and have lots of fond memories using them.

Companies

We would all like the companies we trust to stay in the family forever. But things happen. Computer companies buy each other out. Car manufactures are bought out either all or part. The detector business is no different. I would think that First Texas has tons of money to move the company forward. It may not be in the direction some would like. But since they are trying different things I say there going in the right direction. They have the talent there so only good things can happen. Think about how many times your bank and mortgage company has changed hands in the last 10 years? We still put money in there.

Thats good to hear!
I took my Ace 250 out today (weather was actually warm) and hit a park.
I had three targets that were solid...said it was a nickel. Never bliped around for a second. Yet each turned out to be a piece of aluminium. Figure that one out.

From reading Andy's report I think the F2 would have IDed the target more accurately.

It could have? But I have had a ton of detectors that have been fooled buy certain objects that that have the same exact conductivity as coins. It doesn't matter if you have a $1000.00 detector. You just have to dig them. One of the things I like most about the F2 is just how fast the target response is. This can give you the advantage of picking a good target close to trash. The features compared to the price is huge. Who doesn't like more for less $?
