A few weeks ago, my dog Sailor and I, were walking the West Bank on mobile bay looking for blue beach glass. Well I was and all Sailor was looking for was dead fish, crabs or birds. Well this goes on for a while and I turned to keep an eye on Sailor and she was trying to climb up and dig through some roots of a fallen oak tree where the ground had eroded away under it leaving about a three foot wall under it. She was trying to dig out a dead catfish that washed up and hung in the roots. I was just about to yell to her to stop when the un mistakable sound that silver makes when it falls onto granite. The words that I was about to say we're stuck in the breath in the back of my throat like a sticky spaghetti noodle clings to the fridge. I ran over and she knocked out a beautiful 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar that had been dropped by some unlucky sole years earlier.

Anyways, thought I would share and see what pops out on this thread

I don't believe you.........he looks like the sort of dog that never leaves the couch, much like yourself I hear!......ha ha

Great find, good for you guys, this is what my dog did, ( it's a photo off the internet but suits Gizmo to a tee, even looks just like him)

Photo of Gizmo tasting seawater ( every two minutes) to see if it went fresh yet??

Sadly he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. ( before Old Man says anything, I know....just like his owner)

SADS 669, Now what makes you think I would have said, something like that ? Actually, I was going to say that GIZMO is a good looking Dog. Getting up in age like his owner, but still a good looking dog.

My Dog is just the opposite of me. He's happy and Loves everyone. I'm just a mean. grump, old man.

My dog thinks she's just like the Easter Bunny, and leaves little treasures at each home...

Hey Bay, is this the same dog that got in a little bit of trouble a little while back?

If so he may be working on finding some bail money for the next run in with the law.

Beautiful dog buddy.

Enginefitter, no that's not the same one. The one that got locked up was a friend ours and we were supposed to be watching him for a couple weeks but he was a runner and kept getting out. He's back in Florida now

Sads, did you see the circle hook in her cheek. She can fish also. She jumped up while my boat was on the trailer and snatched a bait off the rod and took off. That 30 wide was screaming

She's clearly just like her owner, takes the bait, " hook, line and sinker"

Treasure hunting? Digging? Too much work for me - I'll leave that to my human. All I do is eat, sleep, and chase critters.

My Boston Terrier finds treasure all the time but then gets distracted by a frog or big bug & forgets to tell me about it. Today she killed an innocent lizard while she was supposed to be fetching a tennis ball.

She fell in the Banana River as a puppy, but other than that she's never been [submerged] in water or even been to the beach. We're just a couple of pathetic landlubbers.

I hope some of your dogs will be at the picnic. Mine always is. She LOVES treasure hunters.

Whoops - I totally forgot that Gin Gin barks at waves on the Banana River all the time. And here's a video of her attacking an unsuspecting creek in Tennessee - she actually got her feet wet since we had to cross it.

My Dog, Jean Laffitte will be staying home this time. I'm tired of him trying to bite everybody...!8 pounds of Terrierist!

Sailor took off and I had to go chasing her and kicked over this tiny stone. I'm sure it's nothing. I really hate my dog now

Thank goodness you posted a dog photo and not a Bay Pirate one
