Well I followed Modern Miners fine example and put together a display this winter.
Not as nice as Doug's but it gets a lot of looks I am told.
The history room is in the Sycamore, Ill. library.
It helps when getting permission to hunt new locations when I have pics of the display with me.
I retain possession of the articles but It is better to have them there than in my closet.
They were very pleased to get them and made room in a locked display case.
Best luck my friends, Merf

Thanks for sharing with all. Very nice display.

Saving History would be very interested in this if he has not seen it yet. He has a new web-site. check it out and become a member..

Very nice displays! Looks like it took a lot of time and effort to create those displays and get those finds! :)

As you may have read, I do the same in the Local Amateur Museum. I'm putting together a buckle display as we speak & I will take out the button display which has been there for some years. (I have 3 large display cases in total) Its nice to find but its better to share

Yes it is good to share and it really sparks the history buffs.
Your display has got to be fantastic with those great finds you make at those medieval sites.

Absolutely true.

Congratulations, Merf--that is a wonderful display. The bat wing buckle captures my imagination. One day, I will find one. :)

Best Wishes to you this spring window. I can't wait to see what you find.

Regards,

Buckles

Real nice display, alot of different things you have there to show the public, good job!

Merf, Merf, Merf,
You sir are a class act. Do you know what your displays have that mine don't? GOOD finds and LOTS of old coins. ;D
Those displays are super buddy.
Glad you're putting them out for others to enjoy. Your displays I mean. :tongue3:
Thanks for sharing & I'm looking forward to seeing you clean those fields out this year.

 stealing my thunder again ;D :D

Awesome display

Sure is nice to be able to SEE history like that. . . instead of leaving it in the ground for future generations ::)

Very nice displays Merf! :icon_king:

Good luck out there this spring....look forward to your finds.

Very nice Merf,I agree I dont have the room to properly display your finds and it is great to have a museum that is willing to display them for you,you also dont have to worry about somebody breaking in to your house and relieving you of them!!!Very nice coin collection too!!
