Found this actually a few days ago, at which point I told my digging partner let's get out of here, site is too new.

It's the top to a child's bicycle bell, the kind you basically pushed a button on the side of it to make it work.

Found two like yours last year circa 1910-1920 if remember right. Merry Christmas!

Yup, you nailed it. I'll keep it, it's not busted up by a plow. Merry Christmas. I really did insist we move on from the site, then found a Barber quarter 150 yards away at another house site.

Way to ring in the new year Happy holiday

Well, it may not be colonial but, it certainly is cool. Old Glory in wonderful green patina just smacks of COOL!:headbang:

anything not a pulltab or can is good in my book

I only got two pulltabs this weekend. If I'm not mistaken there are 12 stars on the flag.

I had a similar one on my bike, yes, they made bikes back then. Mine was made of cheaper thinner metal and don't remember if there was anything on it or not.

No bends, bumps, or bruises. Nice fresh find.

Thank you all. I hadn't realized is was as old as it is.

It's a shame I don't collect coins. I like the history part, and the colonial house was 150 feet away, so I had to go for it.
