Hey Guys, I finally got some Riker boxes to put my DIV finds in and got everything cleaned up. Myself, James Bibb, Jeff Tyree and Ray B. dug together the whole weekend and I would say that the last day was probably one of the best days of the hunt. Here's my finds cleaned up with the cotton background and with a black felt background. I got about 12 buttons or so but up there in that Culpeper dirt the faces just crumble on you. Got a couple pieces of a shoulder scale including the clamshell portion, a nice sword scabbard brass rib that attached to the sword hanger hooks, US Boss Bit, J and D/Oval Hooks, friction primers, 2 spurs (one broke in two), belt adjuster to an Eagle Sword beltplate (I COULD use it on the eagle sword beltplate I found a few months ago b/c I never found the adjuster to that one) and lots of other stuff. Also a very cool item...we were digging on this hill top just POUNDED by spherical case shot and shell and I found a nice Brass Butt Plate with 3 case shot indentions where the projectile exploded and hit the butt plate. Between us 4 we found the whole gun except for the barrel... hope y'all like

Also got about 20 pounds of artillery fragments that isn't pictured

Wow that's awesome!!!

Nice chatting with you at the hunt Josh. You definitely had a better hunt than me as I wasted a lot of time fiddling with the GPX-5000 settings and watching others dig bottles from the trash pits I couldn't find. Hope you can get into some good local sites before the season ends, which isn't far away. Good luck, and hope to run into you again soon ..... Bill

Thanks Bill it was nice talking with you as well. Well you know, that's how they go sometimes, I've been to some and done poorly while my friends did very well, and then others where I did well and my friends..poorly. That's the natural ebb and flow of these events as you know. Just as an aside, the guy who found the Georgia Beltplate had only been digging for 2 months and that was his first ever plate of any kind. Now THAT, is nothing short of spectacular..but I digress. Indeed, the summer's coming quick, I'll be hunting one of the James River Plantations on Sunday so I'm thinking some good stuff will be found. Good Luck to you Bill, I look forward to seeing more of the Spanish that is so abundant in our area, flow from that newest site of yours!

Great video, i wish you luck. Hamid

Great stuff. I always thought it might be fun to do a DIV...but I'm just having a blast down here. The butt plate is sounds like a really cool piece.

Thanks Will! Yes this area is loaded with Spanish Silver as well...Almost every good field that you find around here is goin to have Spanish on it and that's why I'm so partial to it. I love digging the stuff not only as a coin but as a terrific piece of history! Congratulations to you and Shane and the wonderful run you guys are on... I would go as far as to say there's probably more Spanish in your "Cibola" field! Congrats my friend.

Looking good Josh!! love the spur's Buddy.Layout look's really nice on that black!Good seeing you again Buddy.
