Hello all,
My DFX arrived yesterday, and of course I had to take today off from work to play with the new toy. That also made it possible to sleep in this morning because I stayed up pretty late doing some night hunting in my yard. I have some previous expirence with an XLT, and it is apparent that they are not all that much alike. One think I noticed is that the DFX seems to "Chatter" more than the XLT did. I also notice that the DFX does a lot better with nickles than the XLT did, I have dug as many nickles as I have dimes. I don't recall the XLT finding anything over 5 inches deep, but with the DFX I hit a 1936 quarter at 8 inches today, maybe the DFX just has better factory programs
So far, I am impressed. I have a total of about 5-6 hours of swing time, and have done very well. In that time I have dug $8.75 in clad, 1 mercury dime, 2 silver roosevelt's, 12 wheats, a small locket, a cool pocket knife. My house is very old, so the yard should keep me busy for a while. It's funny how fast the Zinc pennies start to corrode when they get burried. Is it just me, or can you tell the difference between a zinc penny, and a copper penny before you dig it up?
