Metal Detecting
Had just a few minutes this morning while waiting for the boss man to show up so of course out came the 350. We are renovating a home in memphis built in the 40's. I set my sight on the very large oak tree in the back yard and started swinging. Pulled out a couple tabs and a large washer on the way to the tree. Then Ding Ding! High tones on silver at 8+ inches. I said hmmm. Lotta digging to get that can slaw. But dug anyway. To my suprise, out pops a silver dime! I was excited. My deepest dime, and silver to boot. I picked up the 350 and passed it over the hole again. Ding ding with the high tones again. Same depth just a couple inches to the left. Out pops two silver quarters! Total disbelief. And giddier than a kid in a candy shop. I pass my detector again and ending up with 2 wheaties, a '42 and '44. I know, wheres the 43? Also 2 nickels a 43 and 62. And an army/navy sterling productivity award pin. All within a foot of eachother and 8-10 inches down. Then boss man showed up and had to come back to the real world again. I'll be spending lunch break in the back yard.

Wow that's a great way to start a work day off if you ask me.. Congrats..

Very nice spill! I dug the smae sterling pin a lil over a week ago, how cool!

Awesome spill! Check the dates on the nickels again. 1943 are silver war nickels, I just dug one Saturday and the patina on those do not look like one is silver. Great job!
