I think This is a pretty cool find! My Dad Found A 1842 Spanish Copper coin today! I Think the detail is pretty intricate on it. Can someone help me figure out what kind of Spanish Coin this is? It would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy the pics!

very sweet find!!

Sweet coin, ur dads a lucky dude

Hello! Oh your dad is a lucky man :icon_thumleft:

The coin is made in the name of Elizabeth II of Spain (Madrid Mint), year 1842.
It seems very strange that the coin appeared in USA.If it's no trouble to you, could you tell us the country of the U.S. where it was found?
Maybe we can find a possible historical link.

Thank you and congrats!

Nice work, congrats to your dad.

Nice coin... Congrats.

Of course we know that Spanish silver coinage circulated in the U.S. for quite a while (until uniform legal tender standards were enacted,
around 1858- I think )- but we don't tend to think of the Spanish coppers that would logically have been there as well , primarily because
nobody ever digs these things - yours is the first I've seen posted here - Nice Find !

(I could certainly be "called out" here by the likes of Iron Patch , or Bill D. VA - or any number of early site diggers , as to the rarity of this)
