Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
So my metal detecting buddy decided to buy a LRP.

At first he was happy with the machine, although it seemed like something wasn't quite right with it. I was trying to explain some of the finer points of the machine to him and just how to fine tune things for detecting. Upon showing him the Pinpoint feature the detector just gave 2 dashes and beeped furiously. The machine would also suddenly start hitting on every inch of ground.

I swapped coils with him and low and behold!! My machine did the same thing!!!

I'm gonna try to help him contact Bounty Hunter and see what they can do for him.

Sorry to hear that man...they should take of him no problem. Great customer service there.

Be warned they will ask for the whole unit back....not just the coil. Even though you troubleshooted it they will want to be 100%. Might want to let him know that.

Best of luck...keep us posted. PM me if you run into any trouble.

Thanks Hunter! I'll let you know.

Before shipping it, box the unit and coil with plenty of bubble wrap and do not write on the box, "FRAGILE"!

Well his LRP is at First Texas or Bounty Hunter for warranty work.

Did he have the 11" DD or 8" concentric coil?

It was the 11" DD

Mine also works flawlessly!!!

Mine came with the DD and had no issues, but that is exactly why companies have a warranty program. When ever humans are involved, something can go wrong. Most companies do a sampling when checking for quality and drill down the deficiencies to the the operator and either provide better instructions and more training or allow that individual the opportunity to shine somewhere else.

My buddy got his lrp back from Bounty Hunter with a brand new coil. On Christmas Eve we had about 2 hours to swing the machines and his first date with his new car was an 1889 Indian head penny in mint condition. He was very grateful Bounty Hunter took care of the coil issue.
