Just got an email from my ex neighbor. Their son, who shared some awesome metal detecting with me is now in an ICU unit and not expected to make it through the weekend. Last time we went detecting he got ill, came down with a respiratory infection and lost one lung. Never quite healed from that and over the last few years has gotten worse.

Somewhere back there in the archives is a post or two relating how the first 7 times we went hunting he came back with a gold ring each time or pretty close to those numbers. He moved south and could not move around enough to go md'ing anymore. A few years younger than me, mid 40's and a great guy to have along on the hunt. He had that uncanny unability to find the goodies seemingly at the flip of the on switch and never considered life's hardships anything but blessings in disguise.

Have a good one Eric, there's gold ahead for you.

Sorry to hear that.
It seems like this happens to the nice ones. Hopefully he'll pull out of it.

Yea, sorry bud.

Damn, always happens to the best, and when you'd least expect it. Life is great but at times can be so unfair.

Here's hoping your friend can and will recover.

My buddy Eric passed away this morning. Last big thrill of his life was MD'ing and treasure hunting but his health took that away. There goes a guy who would have your back covered without hesitation and would laugh as quickly as anyone at the quirks of the world. A good neighbor and friend gone now to the happy hunting grounds.

Carry on Brother.

Man I'm sorry for yous loss bud. I don't know what to say, but just remember the times you had together. Sorry again...

Tim,

I am so sorry for your loss.

Joe

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend Lowbatts. It sounds like you and Eric shared some great times together. This is a reminder to us all that each day we are alive should be looked upon as our last. What great things we can accomplish if we see it that way. Bad days would be a thing of the past, because there would be no time to be unhappy.

Sorry to hear that Tim,
I was kinda hoping for a miracle.
Mike
