This is a photo of one of his two deer that he lets have free run of his small house just outside of the Ozark national forest. The photo looks old because he's still not in the digital age. In fact, that's probably from his 110 camera. The deer come in to sleep at night, and before the sun rises, they're gone and he usually doesn't see them again until nightfall, Or, when thy're fighting with the chickens for the corn feed.

You're not kidding about that picture, looks like it's from the late 60's, or early 70's.. I guess that is as good as the film gets for those little cameras. I like animals too, but to have them share my house :icon_scratch: I don't think so.. That picture looks cute, but I wonder if that deer brought any of his "tick" friends along :icon_scratch: I'd hate to get Lyme disease from chair just sitting at home :dontknow:

Lol... Yes the picture is a result of flash and low light in the house. There are actually two deer that come in to his house. ALso, if you remember a post a while ago, I told you about how a baby deer nuzzled up to him as he slept. These are not the same deer. He thinks that the original is already dead (because of hunting season). But for some reason, these new deer know him as the deer man.
But yes, he has actually had 'that' deer tick poison. he had it for a couple of months. It's apparently acceptable to him. And for anyone that has ever visited Arkansas, you can attest, that if you simply look on the ground, ticks or more prevalent than fire ants. Ticks are EVERY where in AK. That's one of the reasons he has chickens run free on his land (they eat ticks).

Also, sadly, the pit bull is gone. I'm sorry as well. But I, as well as him as well, determined that this dog, with the aggressive nature, should be shot. It absolutely broke his heart, and yes, he cried on the phone to me as he told me the story. I actually deleted the original post. ...But, there's something that has to be done with a dog that wants to kill and mame everything, including a human mother (mine) on site. It was a very sad passing. But, he felt it the right thing to do before something more crazy happened, like a death in the family. He really loved that dog. I explained all this earlier in the other post, but deleted it because I felt it would be too graphic.

I am sorry to hear about the Pit Bull. I am just wondering if that dog wasn't sick with distemper. I had a loving dog that was bitten when I was a kid, the dog soon had distemper and bit me in the face. He became aggressive many times and we had to have him put down. Not a great childhood memory in having to do that.

The pit would be very loving toward my brother, but when it came to other animals or humans, it was a crap shoot. My mom got bit, both of his dogs got torn into, and even a few chickens. He felt really bad. I do too because I love all animals, except mosquitoes.
