My Best-

I hate to be the one to do this but I think that is a natural stone.

I thought the same thing till i looked at the darkening around the edge of the 3rd contact point and on the edges of the large bottoms of the holes.

Hmmm? Very Nice!, and Interesting.

Doesn't look like any natural hole I have seen. They look pretty conical in the picture.

Loads of stones like that in the creeks and beaches down this way

gotta agree with gator on this one.....I see those all the time too.

Very cool! I'm not agreeing w/ Gater that it's natural. Not w/ that beveling. Regardless, it would work like a charm, no? And as many holes in rocks that I've seen around here, I have to say, none are beveled. Isn't that something to note? Yak

Ya, I would like to see one.

it is not a beveled hole...it is a hole that is just not finished yet....most likely pholad borings.

Im glad there is no rocks with holes in them around here. It would really drive me crazy wondering if they were natural or not.

Then there's the round ones hahaha

...whatever it turns out to be or not....I still like it :)

I have never seen conical shaped holes by nature , I'm sure they may be out there but they have to be rare. That is a cool find and to have two holes that close together is rare. Looks like it would make the perfect tool:thumbsup:

Now THAT's what I'd call an omarulluk (omar) uncle mac. None of those holes are tapered or even similar to those shown.

I'm not saying they are anything one way or the other, just saying they don't look like any natural hole I have ever seen. I'm just hoping someone that knows more the us here so far will chime in so we can all learn.

I'm not in the habit of picking these things up but I will here over the next day or so and post some.
Unless some rock hole expert shows up first.lol.
This was in my backyard

You can just search the term Odin stones or hag stones.

that's just the first picture I ripped off the inernet...trust me that rock is 100% natural. the taper that you all think you see is just the end of the hole. poke around on the internet....besides....a socket with a hole all the way through it kinda defeats the purpose of the stone don't you think....not to mention having two identical holes right next to each other....

2 holes are better than 1, JMO
