I went to Islamorada yesterday. As everybody that I went with was busy fishing,I was driving down US1 to detect the little roadside areas where you can pull over and swim or picnic or whatever.I searched a few spots with no success, just junk and a few clad coins.Well about 3-4 hours into it,I was at the south end of the key just before the bridge at channel#2,the sound of silver was beeping in my headphones! Here's a photo of what I came up with:? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?It's stamped GUCCI .925,it weighs a little over 2oz. and is 8and1/2 in.I've spent 1/2 the day trying to polish it up.I think i'll take it to a jeweler and let them try to clean it better. This is my best silver jewelry find to date!

Good find. I wanted to hunt some spots like that last time in the keys, just never made time. Salt is rough on silver for sure. Buffing might be the best solution. Like you said, let the jeweler do it. Good luck & HH! Chris
