This past Friday I picked up 3 boxes of halves and $180 (360 rolls) of CWR pennies from my credit union. Also hit 3 banks on the way home and bought 3 $25 boxes of pennies.
I got 1 40% half out of all three boxes (starting to get really agrevated with halves)
The score was in the pennies!
I was busting open the rolls and dumping them into canvas bags so it would be easier to feed the Ryedale (best investment I've made in a LONG time).
A few minutes into it I looked down into the bag and noticed that the roll I had just dumped contained all very dull looking cents (much like wheats)
Sure enough, it was a full roll of wheats!
It seemed like one member (who taped both sides of his or her roll) rolled up 10 solid rolls of wheats and cashed them in.
I immediately called my favorite teller at the credit union and asked her to set aside any coins she comes across that has both sides of the roll taped of any denomination and that I would buy them this Friday when I came in to pick up my coins for the week.
The final tally from the $180 in pennies was
$5.45 in wheats (10 full rolls, and 45/50 of an 11th roll)
6 King George pennies
5 dimes (none silver)
Definitely my best score yet!
