If I was around in 2004 to post it I would guess it could have made the banner. It's hard to estimate the value because it's not as rare as it once was, but still one of the best. 10 years ago would have probably been in the range of $3,000. But even today I would need better than that to part with it.

O.K. $3028.57 cents ;D You need to get out and find some more stuff, that button is like my cannon ,it shows up everywhere :D I know its cold ,maybe you can take a hooters girl to keep you warm :tongue3:

I'll think about the offer. :D

It's not like your cannon because it's not the same button. 8)

As for getting out, trust me... it does not look like FL here today!

Its cold here also, high of 55 today.... That is a different button the other was brown, and that one is green and gold like the greenbay packers :icon_jokercolor: Goodluck ,and just something to think about why its cold outside :coffee2:

What might be the amazing thing is it's the only button I've dug with a patina like that in easily over 5000 button finds. The detecting God picked the right one!

IP.. That button is nothing short of amazing. I can't believe the condition right out of the ground! Was it found in a location with known Rev War activity? I'm sitting here watching "The Patriot" on HBO and clicking away on TNet and just came across this post. I love Rev War artifacts and this is one of the best I've seen. Congrats! I'm sure it displays nicely.

Yes there was more Rev items dug, it was a site soldiers settled shortly after the war.

Cool movie!

 Good Lord that is a beauty!! I would soil my self upon digging that up, lol! :D

Thanks for sharing,
Steve

Iron Patch, Great find. Can you give us any info about the button itself?
Get some more.

Found on a day when there was no plan to hunt but I received a phone call and plans changed. Unless there's a non dug one of these somewhere (and I'm not aware there is) I'm pretty sure this is the best known 17mm. That means a little bit more comparing the two (coat & cuff) for this unit because the 24mm is different, it does not abbreviate the word Regiment so they are not just different sizes but different buttons.

PS.. The back is all gilt and has a perfect shank. Dug it about 4 years ago. Other than the dirt this is how it came out of the ground! (Circa. 1776-1781)

Awesome button. It will be hard to beat. Great Find. ]

WOW :icon_king:

No wonder your button threshold is so high :D

The patina only adds beauty to this amazing button :icon_sunny:

A patina like that in my dirt is quite a bit rarer than the button is. Would you believe this is the only button with a patina like this
I've dug in thousands of buttons and the one time I get it, it just happen to be this button. That is some crazy luck but I will take it.
