That’s one beautiful point ! Guessing it’s made from type of coral .... really neat with just the edges being translucent would look cool in a backlit display case

Yes sir, it is Agatized (Fossil) coral.

Thanks Joe dirt, 2020 has been slow as I've only gotten to dig once. Scored a few broken tips, a tool and a pottery piece. My site has a lot of material though, very chippy!

That's a smoker for sure. Polk County has some really nice material and yours is beautiful. I would call it a Cypress Creek, great find.

Absolute killer! Love the color.

Now thats an awesome find to showcase Well done Tommy

That’s quite a hole you got there .... how did you determine to concentrate all your efforts in that spot ? Test pits or is that site just rich with artifacts and you just went for it ? For the past few years iv been wanting to try it at one of my spots this spring may be the last opportunity I have so I’m gonna try and make time to go for it. I think my biggest concern is how long and how deep do I dig with out results before moving to another pit.

Cookie cutter point for sure. If I found it I would have called it a Marion but Cypress Creek fits to. I’d like to see better pics from all angles before I would vote banner. Congrats!

I agree Marion is a good call & it very well may be. My reason was few Marion's have the drooping ears but some do. Most Cypress Creek points do have the drooping ears & rounded bases. Marion's tend to be better made/looking than Cypress Creeks but the Polk County points are usually very nicely made. They had access to really nice material as do the neighbouring counties. I would vote banner if it meets the criteria. It is very rare to find a point that nice in that condition. Look at his pile of chips, that's what you find 99% of the time.
